Founded in 1984 by Manuel "Skip" Mendes and his son Michael, A. C. T. Vehicle Equipment carried only a few product lines for small pickup trucks. In the beginning, wrecker bodies and snow plows were the bulk of the business. Over the years, rapid growth in both product lines and customers saw the business looking for a bigger location. In 1996, a brand new 7500 square-foot facility was built right down the street from the original shop. Today, A. C.
